Statement

As an artist, I am passionate about unraveling the complex layers of female identity. My work delves into the deep, often unspoken connections between women and nature, expressed through vibrant, intuitive art. Drawing is my primary medium, but I embrace a wide array of techniques including acrylics, oils, inks, paper-cutting, and digital painting to bring my visions to life.

With a Bachelor’s degree in Visual Arts from FAD/UNAM, my creative journey is fueled by a desire to explore and celebrate the multifaceted experiences of women. Each piece I create is a reflection of the resilience, strength, and beauty inherent in female identity.

Since 2019, I have been based in South Dublin, creating under the name Lula Nopal. My work not only serves as a personal exploration but also invites viewers to engage with and reflect on the diverse narratives of women. Through my art, I aim to foster a deeper understanding and appreciation of the intricate tapestry that constitutes female identity.

Biography

Educated at the National Autonomous University of Mexico (UNAM) with a Bachelor's degree in Visual Arts, Lula Nopal's academic background provided her with a strong foundation in both traditional and modern artistic practices. Her education was further enhanced by her studies at the University of Zaragoza in Spain, where she honed her skills and expanded her artistic horizons. This blend of cultural and educational experiences deeply informs her work, allowing her to draw on a wide range of influences and techniques.

Since 2019, Lula Nopal has been based in South Dublin, Ireland, where she continues to create under her professional name. This relocation has been a significant chapter in her life, offering new cultural insights and experiences that have enriched her artistic practice. In Ireland, Lula Nopal has immersed herself in the local art scene, contributing to various community projects and engaging in cultural exchanges that have further broadened her artistic perspective.

Lula Nopal’s commitment to the arts extends beyond her personal creative endeavours. She has been an influential mentor and educator, guiding aspiring artists and fostering a supportive and collaborative creative environment.
